Woodman Wisconsin was once the number one center for travel and trade in Southwest Wisconsin. In the late 1800s and early 1900s Woodman was one of the only communities in the whole southern part of the state that brought together trade from two different railroads as well as from land and water traffic.

Today Woodman has a different feel, a different appeal. Today Woodman is a quiet village where it’s 130 residents enjoy the peace and tranquility that comes with small town living. A place where it is not uncommon to have a deer nibbling on blossoms in the back yard or see a pair of Sandhill Cranes walking along that side of the road. Woodman is like the front door to Mother Nature’s House and the door is open for everyone to come and enjoy.

Our village park has two new shelter houses that are available for all to use for a family picnic or other special event. The park has a basketball and tennis court as well as a nice selection of new playground equipment. An artesian well runs through the park and has been exquisitely landscaped by some of our ambitious residents just because they are so proud of their community.

We are bordered on three sides by designated wildlife and natural areas, one of which is Woodman Lake. The Lake is an electric motor only area that has lots of room for bank fisherman as well as boaters and there a several handicapped accessible fishing areas along the shore as well.

We have a unique and diversified business community that caters to the  sportsman and Outdoor enthusiasts. Among them you will find a restaurant & bar with it’s own micro brewery, a bait and tackle shop, a taxidermist, Cabin Rentals with RV parking, and opening soon a “Dinky” General Store that will offer everything from gifts to gadgets. We always welcome entrepreneurs.

If you are looking for a place to get a way for a day, a week or even longer then bring your bike, canoe, fishing rod and hiking boots and say hello to Mother Nature Woodman Wisconsin
